We are working with them to guide them towards legal and political resources.
💔 News 2 – Jonas Kiese sent off
Despite our letter-writing campaign, Jonas Kiese has been deported. He leaves behind Fannie and their three-month-old daughter Kimia, as well as the entire village of Saint-Anselme in turmoil. Fannie tells Le Soleil that she plans to leave the country and settle in Côte d'Ivoire, where her husband will go ahead to prepare the ground.

✍️ News item 3 – Petition update
Our petition to the National Assembly: Sign here
As of 13 September (10:12 a.m.), the petition has 4,213 signatures.
The projection for 1 October 2025 is now approximately 7,417 signatures.
This means that nearly 2,600 signatures are still needed to reach the goal of 10,000.
Volunteers continue to mobilise:
🙏 Thank you to Olivia for contacting the Knights of Columbus.
🙏 Thank you to Jade for reaching out to student associations.
Thanks to your exceptional mobilisation and generous donations, we have reached our fundraising goal of $2,000. As a result, our message in defence of family reunification is finally coming out of the shadows ✊💛.
📢 Starting on Monday, 15 September, powerful advertisements will appear in Quebec's major media outlets:
🗞 La Presse: starting 15 September
📰 The information cooperative network (Le Soleil, Le Droit, etc.): starting 16 September
🧾 The Gazette and Le Devoir: also during the week
📱 And of course, on social media throughout the campaign!
👉 Here is our advertisement for the networks (in French):
🙏 Thank you,
to everyone who made this possible!
🎯 Our goal is clear: to increase the number of signatures on the petition, to obtain urgent reform of family reunification, to end the 41-month wait and finally to reunite our families 💔➡💞
⚖️ News item 4 – Legal action (mandamus)
Good news: we have sent the lawyers the list of our new candidates who have completed the form. 🙌 Their response is very positive: the table they have prepared will enable them to quickly contact those whose cases have been selected to continue and strengthen the legal action.
👉 Reminder of the case:
The first nine appeals filed were settled out of court.
The lawyers had to prepare new cases to keep up the pressure.
In May and June, responses to the government's arguments were filed.
We are now awaiting the Court's decision on authorisation (if it hears our arguments).
As soon as the decision is made, we will inform you immediately.
🙏 Thank you all for your trust and involvement: it makes a real difference in strengthening our collective action.
✊ We won't give up!
📲 Keep sharing, talking and rallying support around you.
